Heaven's Gate
Brief HistoryOnce the home to Akin, the God of Justice, Heaven's Gate is a wealthy city with the old magic infused within every stone. Within its walls, it houses Akin's Keep; the home of the Warden of the East. Heaven's Gate is most famous for its legion of gargoyles that protect it along with the impregnable stone wall that surrounds it.
It's said that the God King Akin had his younger brother Cassel; the God of the Craft, personally construct the palace stone by stone. It took the God of Craft five years to build the keep, to his older brother's liking. Both Cassel and Mahkiel would go on to bless the city walls with a protection spell that would prevent any invader from taking down the walls. Once the keep was finished, Cassel's son Mahkiel, the God of Stone presented a legion of Gargoyles to Akin as a present for his new home. The Gargoyles would forever obey whoever sat upon the throne in Heaven's Gate. After Isaac slew the gods and disappeared himself, the city fell into the hands of a Kray knight who took the throne for himself. With the backing of the Gargoyles to protect the keep and the city around it, Heaven's Gate has not been sacked since Isaac slew the God Akin. That being said, inner squabbles have seen the thrown change hands between families throughout the years. It is now the home of the Warden of the North, Marquis Adair Scollick who claims to trace his lineage back to the original Kray people who were the first to inhabit Three Warden before the Ballek came to their shores. |
